PEDIATRIC URGENT CARE

Common reasons families bring children to Pacific.

Common Acute Illnesses

Fever, cough, sore throat, ear symptoms, sinus symptoms, rashes, respiratory complaints, urinary symptoms, nausea, vomiting and other appropriate acute concerns.

Minor Injuries

Cuts, wounds, sprains, strains, minor burns and other non-life-threatening injuries that can be safely evaluated in an outpatient setting.

Testing & Selected Follow-Up

Selected point-of-care testing, urinalysis, wound follow-up and coordination of outside laboratory or imaging studies when clinically appropriate.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Care is based on the child's age, symptoms and examination.

Some pediatric concerns require testing, imaging, specialist evaluation or a higher level of care. A parent, legal guardian or appropriately authorized adult may need to participate depending on the child's age and circumstances.

WHEN TO SEEK EMERGENCY CARE

Some symptoms need emergency evaluation.

Severe breathing difficulty, major trauma, uncontrolled bleeding, loss of consciousness, seizures, severe dehydration, suspected poisoning or other potentially life-threatening symptoms should be evaluated in an emergency department or by calling 911.
